The game with roughly similar rules, Codeball, has achieved short popularity in the United States at the end of 1920 and 1930. Since the end of the Eighties, Swiss players played a version of the game, and the Scandinavian countries started playing the game under different names and rules in the nineties. Michael Jansen and bass Korsten were the creators of the uniforms and basic rules of the FootGolf, as well as the organizer of the first tournament with the game mode which is played today all over the world. In 2008 they officially started FootGolf in the Netherlands.
